Purpose of the Book:
1. Suggest to a Jewish audience that Jesus is a better Moses. To strengthen and encourage Jewish in their suffering and persecution
Moses was the author of the law and the Hebrew nation. Massive figure to the Jewish people.
Jesus is superseding any Jewish figure anyone can point to
He’s a fulfillment to all that came before Him
Message of the Book:
1. Jesus is King of the Universe - translates into every reality
2. Jesus rules and reigns over all things
Matthew is about Jesus’ power and dominance. There is no obstacle to great for Him
