1. To summon Timothy to come to Rome
2. To direct Timothy as the proper course of action in a time of apostasy
Message of the Book:
1. True ministers of Christ should not be ashamed
2. The true minister will be faithful in times of apostasy
Although others will lose their confidence you will not
3. True minister will be sound in doctrine, teaching and preaching the word of truth
