Northern and southern Israel were divided
2. Spiritually: to show Gods grace and mercy in calling a backslidden nation back to Him
3. Prophetically: to predict the destiny of the chosen nation and the gentile nation
Message of the Book:
1. The word of the Lord calls backsliders to forsake their iniquity and return to the Lord
God is always telling them and giving them the way out
2. All evil is certain to be judged by captivity
When we turn from the master of life we turn to the master of death
There is no freedom outside of God. When we liberate ourselves from God we free ourselves from liberty
3. After calling them to repentance, God will forsake those who forsake Him.
There are people God will resist and not pursue. It’s unfortunate because God wants to but these people do not want to. Pride puts us in a place where we can’t see our faults
4. God wants to put His law in our hearts
Jeremiah 31 - I will write your law on my heart.
